Hernando County Sheriff’s Office filed DUI related charges against one of their employees.

Emily Vernon was arrested Monday on one count of DUI property damage for an incident July 11th.

Deputies investigated a single car crash on Lake Lindsey Road in Brooksville.  Witnesses told deputies the motorist was driving recklessly prior to the crash.

By the time the witness caught up with the driver they found Vernon’s car into a road sign.  Since no one at the scene could place Vernon as the driver of the car she was not charged at the time.

A witness came forward July 15th who saw Vernon leaving the car after the crash.  With the new information, the investigators re-opened the case and charged Vernon with one county of DUI property damage.

The bond was set at $500.
