3 DUI Arrests at DUI Checkpoint in Ashburn

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office arrested three motorists for driving under the influence during a sobriety checkpoint Friday night in Ashburn.
A fourth driver was charged with driving without a license.
The checkpoint had 623 vehicles pass through; 24 vehicles underwent further screening.
The Sheriff’s Office conducts monthly checkpoints and additional ones on holidays.

Charleston DUI:2nd Offense of Reckless Driving

A grand jury indicted Melissa Newman on charges of DUI causing injury, 2nd offense DUI and reckless driving.
In June, investigators say Newman hit BJ Berkhouse while he was walking along Capitol Street. Police say she drove on to the sidewalk, hit two trees and then hit Berkhouse.
Berkhouse was released from the hospital this month.
