The California Highway Patrol is reporting 75 drunken driving arrests in the county so far this Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
During the same period last year, CHP officers made 92 DUI arrests in the county.
The only fatalities reported countywide this weekend occurred in Balboa Park at midnight, when a driver and passenger were killed in a rollover [...]

Utah Shows Lowest Percentage of DUI Fatalities

According to DUI.com Report shows Utah has dramatically lower percentage of fatalities from drunk driving.
A report to be presented to state legislators indicates that Utah has the lowest percentage of fatalities attributable to DUI/DWI. With the most recent figures show the United States average is 41%, Utah DUI accounts for 22% of road fatalities.

A Few Drunk Driving Statistics from the Past Year

A national report reveals that 15.1 percent of the nation’s drivers age 18 and older drove under the influence of alcohol at least once in the past year. The report says that in some states the levels are far higher – about one in four drivers.

32 States See Decrease in DUI Related Deaths

The United States government reported this week that highway fatalities related to drunk driving dropped in 32 states. Whatcom County Police Arrest 70 For DUI in August

Extra law enforcement patrols looking for drunken drivers during the latest Drive Hammered Get Nailed campaign snared 70 suspects in Whatcom County.
