Phoenix Officer’s DUI Arrest Not His First

According to court documents, a Phoenix Police Officer that was arrested for drunk driving in Gilbert, has been arrested for DUI before.
FOX 10 has obtained court records that show the officer was arrested 8 years ago for driving while intoxicated, when he was 19 years of age.

Arizona Governor Increases DUI Funding

Tucson gets $40,000 boost for DUI enforcement

Police officers in the Tucson Police Department received a large state grant in order to better enforce DUI laws in the coming year.
The funds will be allocated to enforcement of existing traffic laws through selective enforcement efforts, often called saturation patrols. Part of this enforcement includes a DUI checkpoint scheduled in the area this Friday.

Tucson Police to Hold DUI Checkpoints

Nearly $40,000 in state grant money has been awarded to the Tucson Police Department to help enforce traffic laws and prevent drunk driving, including a sobriety checkpoint scheduled for Friday.
The $39,690 grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety will help TPD with selective traffic enforcement efforts through September, according to a news release.

Arizona Task Force Arrests 1053 for DUI

A task force targeting Arizona drunken drivers has netted 1053 arrests in the last two weeks.
The statewide task force Labor Day enforcement started August 21st and ends late tonight.
In a news release, the task force reported 359 people face extreme driving-under-the-influence charges, meaning they had a blood-alcohol content above 0.15.

Arizona courts say warrant needed for DUI blood test

The Arizona State Court of Appeals issued a ruling on Tuesday requiring either consent from the accused or a warrant to permit a DUI blood test.

900 Stops Results in 55 Arizona DUIs

Officers from the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force were deployed in the Tucson area over the Independence Day weekend, resulting in 55 DUI arrests from nearly 900 stops.
Of the 55 arrests, 18 of those were extreme DUIs, which constitute a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 or above.
