Record Settlement Lake Forest, IL DUI Case
Lake Forest resident George Baldwin has been awarded a record verdict after he was paralyzed in a car accident following an underage drinking party three years ago.
On Wednesday, a Lake County jury ruled that the insurance company of William Klairmont, who was driving drunk during the single-vehicle crash will be responsible for $33.2 million in damages — the largest in Lake County history. The ruling exceeded a $23.3 medical malpractice verdict obtained in 2004.
“The outcome in this case is the recognition by a Lake County jury that George has suffered a tremendous loss. The jury did the right thing,” said attorney Patrick Salvi II. “This verdict will take care of George’s medical needs for the rest of his life so that he can live as full a life as possible in the face of physical disabilities.”
The trial was only on damages because Klairmont admitted fault, Salvi said.
An Illinois DUI Lawyer can get you off the hook and a Personal Injury Lawyer can get you a settlement.
