Ohio State Patrol Announces There Will be DUI Checkpoints this Week(end)

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced that troopers will operate a DUI checkpoint to deter and intercept those driving drunk this week.

The location(s) or day(s) of the DUI checkpoint have not yet been specified, but there will be DUI checkpoints in Ohio this week and further information will be posted when available.

Colonel Richard H. Collins, superintendent of the Patrol was quoted saying:

“These checkpoints are designed to not only deter driving under the influence, but to proactively remove these dangerous drivers from our roadways.”

On average, there are more than 16,000 DUI crashes that kill more than 450 people each year in Ohio.
