Kearse offered a quick apology Thursday as he left the courtroom.

“Obviously, he’s upset and distressed that this incident caused adverse publicity for the Titans,” his lawyer, Roger May, said.  “He apologizes to the fans and the Titans for this incident and I don’t think you’re going to see anything like this happen again.”

In the courtroom, Kearse quietly entered a guilty plea and lowered his head as he accepted his punishment.

He will lose his license for one year for refusing to take a breathalyzer test and be on probation for six months for reckless driving.

The charges were reduced from the original DUI arrest.

“I think he’s happy with the results of it,” said May.  “I think he was treated just like other people that would have had similar circumstances.”

Vanderbilt police pulled over Kearse on West End Avenue in late June for speeding and weaving.

Kearse refused to take a breathalyzer test.

The incident was recorded on an in-camera video.

“It showed he was driving down the road and he may have touched the line once or twice.  The officer thought he had enough reason to stop him, so he did,” said May.

Kearse must also continue to take part in an NFL alcohol education program, which he enrolled in the day after his arrest.
