David Cassidy Sentenced for DUI

February 17th, 2011 · 1 Comment

It was November 3 when David Cassidy’s Mercedes was seen weaving across a Florida highway before a half-empty bottle of bourbon was found hidden in his car. David Cassidy, 60, received his sentence for DUI charges on Wednesday. Check out what he got.

David Cassidy’s lawyer appeared in court on Cassidy’s behalf Wednesday, telling the judge Cassidy wished to pleading no contest to charges of driving under the influence. David Cassidy had been stopped by police in November after his car weaved across a highway in St. Lucie, Florida, and he claimed he’d had just one glass of wine. But after a field sobriety test and a blood analysis, authorities determined that Cassidy’s blood-alcohol content was nearly twice the legal limit. When they searched his car, they found a half-empty bottle of bourbon under the seat.

How did a judge deal with the offense? Contact Music reports:

“[David Cassidy] was sentenced to a year’s probation and ordered to complete 50 hours of community service by a Florida court yesterday, reports the UK’s ‘Daily Mail’ … [Cassidy] was also ordered to pay fines amounting to $500 and also to complete an alcohol education classic. He is also required to attend a DUI ‘victim impact panel’, where he will meet people affected by drunk driving incidents.”

And this was the most painful part of David Cassidy’s sentence: he’ll reportedly lose his driver’s license for six months.

I do not feel any differant about David but I felt like I needed counseling after I watched it LOL! I hope life can still continue to treat him well. My heart goes out to him and his family. I know his true fans will understand and that we are all human even David Cassidy.
